CV-600 updated bottles

CV-600 Enzyme Water Cleaner is a unique, stabilized enzyme that effectively breaks down and digests non-living organic waste and oils in water. These carbon-based contaminants are commonly found in pools, spas and other recreational water. Without an enzyme like CV-600 (or CV-700), organic waste needs to be oxidized to be removed from water. Chlorine gets reduced oxidizing bather waste, so supplementing chlorine to manage organic waste is critical. That's why it is Orenda's Second Pillar of Proactive Pool Care.

CV-600 is one of the original Orenda Products, and its formula remains the same today as it did when it was used in industrial wastewater treatment.

Routine use of CV-600 will positively maintain water clarity, directly address carbon-based contamination, and boost chemical efficiency.

CV-600 vs. Cloudy Water

Even with a good filter on your swimming pool, non-living organics and bather waste can still cloud up a swimming pool. It often takes time for oils and body waste to get to the filters...meanwhile, chlorine is constantly trying to oxidize these contaminants. Cloudy pool water can be caused by a number of things. Having world-class water clarity, however, takes good filtration, chemistry, and circulation. Let Orenda help on the chemistry side.

Orenda CV-600 can help clean water
CV-600 enzymes directly break down and digest carbon-based non-living waste. The results for water clarity can be remarkable, as seen in this video. It goes far beyond just water clarity, however. Enzymes can improve chlorine efficiency, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), and overall cleanliness of your water.

Orenda Enzymes Digesting Oil

Orenda enzymes CV-600 digest WD-40 oil in a bowl of water

This video demonstrates how Orenda's enzyme breaks down and digests oils in water. This demonstration includes an overdose of Orenda enzyme, WD-40, and a bowl of water. Watch as the enzymes attack the oil and break down the carbon bonds, releasing microbubbles of carbon dioxide.

This video simulates what Orenda enzymes do in a swimming pool to bather waste and other non-living organics. Lotions, sunscreen, cosmetics/make-up, hair gels, deodorants, and other body products wash off our bodies and stay in the pool. Without enzymes, chlorine is left to try and oxidize them out of the water. The problem is, chlorine is not designed to do that...and it has a much more important purpose: sanitation.

Let Orenda enzymes and CE-Clarifier handle the bather waste for you. The enzymes circulate through the system just like other chemicals, so they are out in the pool where all of the contamination is introduced. They can boost chlorine efficiency by reducing the oxidant demand on chlorine, so chlorine can focus on disinfection.

The result is stunning water clarity and healthier pool water.

Learn How to Install a Chemical Feed Pump

Manually adding chemicals to a swimming pool requires consistency and accurate dosing. Or, you can simply automate the process by installing a chemical feed pump. Peristaltic feeders can pump a measured amount of liquid, and they can be tapped into a pressurized plumbing line or dripped into a surge tank. We recommend adding Orenda products in a certain sequence, depending on what your pool needs.

Just CV-600 or CV-700 Enzymes: Enzymes can be added just about anywhere in the circulation stream. We recommend adding them after a UV or Ozone system, if applicable. Others add the enzymes into the surge tank or right before the filters because enzymes can help keep filters clean. It is a matter of preference.

CV-600/700 Enzymes and SC-1000 Scale & Metal Control: The dominant chemical here is SC-1000, so it takes priority. Because of its impact on chlorine levels, always add SC-1000 to the return line going back to the pool. This means its feed pump should be tapped into the return line after everything else in the pump room. Do not add SC-1000 prior to the chlorinator, filter, etc. The enzymes, in this scenario, would be added anywhere prior to the filter; and if the pool has a cal hypo feeder, add Orenda enzymes immediately prior to that feeder.

CV-600/700 Enzymes, PR-10,000 Phosphate Remover: Again, the dominant chemical here is PR-10,000, so it takes priority. We normally recommend against a feed pump for PR-10,000, but many of our customers have found success with it. Regardless, PR-10,000, just like SC-1000, should be tapped in the last possible place in the pump room, directly into the return line (if you use a feed pump at all). Some customers have added it into the surge pit, and it was a hard lesson learned. The precipitation from PR-10,000 flocked to the bottom of the surge pit and had nowhere to go. We also do not recommend adding it prior to filters or anything else. Again, we do not recommend a feed pump for PR-10,000. It should be used as needed and added manually around the perimeter of the pool.
